Terms of service
Last updated 4 Nov 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Daniel Brown, trading as Email Testr, a sole trader in the United Kingdom ("EmailTestr", "we", "us") for your use of emailtestr.com and its services. By creating an account you agree to them.
1The service
EmailTestr shows how your HTML emails look in email clients and checks them for common problems. Some previews are simulated: drawn from your HTML in the engine the email client uses, not captured from a real inbox. They're always labelled "Simulated". Previews and checks help you catch problems; they can't guarantee how every email client, device or setting will display an email.
2Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give accurate details.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- One account can be used by your organisation. Don't share sign-in details publicly.
- Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3Acceptable use
You agree not to use EmailTestr to:
- test or prepare phishing, malware, scams or other unlawful content
- send spam, or publish or share your private test address
- try to access other people's tests, or to probe, overload or attack our systems, including through the HTML you submit or the links in it
- break any law, or infringe anyone's rights
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and remove the content involved.
4Your content
You keep all rights in the emails you test. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you: making previews, running checks and keeping your history. You confirm you're entitled to send us the content, including any personal data in it, and that doing so is lawful. See our privacy policy for how we handle it. Tests are deleted automatically after 30 days (90 on Pro).
5Plans and payment
- Early access is free while we're in early access. We'll give you notice before it ends.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe, in pounds, dollars or euros. Prices exclude any taxes that apply.
- Each plan includes a number of previews a month. Unused previews don't carry over. Failed previews aren't counted.
- Cancelling: cancel any time in Settings → Manage billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account moves to the free plan. We don't refund part-months, except where the law requires it.
- Changing plan takes effect straight away, with the difference adjusted on your next invoice.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The change applies from your next billing period after the notice.
6Consumers
EmailTestr is designed for businesses. If you use it as a consumer in the UK, you have statutory rights that these terms don't affect, including a right to cancel within 14 days of buying a paid plan. If you ask us to start the service straight away, you agree that we'll deduct a fair amount for the service already provided if you cancel within that time.
7Availability
We work to keep EmailTestr available and accurate, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. We'll tell you about significant changes that affect paid plans.
8Our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law.
- We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or opportunity.
- Otherwise, our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or £100 if greater.
9Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or with 30 days' notice for any other reason, in which case we'll refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.
10Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before then.
11Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
